I would really like to say that this winter I had every bird in my yard. I have a heated bird bath and 3 feeders. This was the best winter yet for life outside...Then there is the rabbit who ate my bush...OK Love Lynn

There are about 462 species of birds in Canada for a full list go to:
http://canadianbiodiversity.mcgill.ca/english/species/birds/index.htm
They survive in winter by eating seeds and berries as well as hunting mice and rabitts. It all depends on the type of bird. Many migrate to southern destinations and some even go furthar north. There are more fact sheets on the Hinterland Who's Who site to explian what each species does.
